UM OLHAR PARA O UNIVERSO/A LOOK AT THE UNIVERSE

March and the event continues every day until May 2, 2009. The exhibit features 3 gigantic statues plus
models of the planets in our gardens and 4 halls of audio-visual installations aimed at exploring man's
understanding of the Universe during 4 epochal periods: The Primitive Era, the Mythic Era, the Era of
Understanding, and the Future. The Observatory itself is also open to the public with supervision by a
professional astronomer. The event is targeted at young people and we have been receiving about 150
Astronomy and an understanding of man's place in the Universe.
The event is the brain-child of Cleofas Uchoa (former owner of the Observatorio de Buzios), has been
produced by Tropical Producoes with creative direction by Joao Uchoa and Ciclo Architectura e Meio
Ambiente, is funded by The Instituto de Pesquisa Solar e Ambiental through the Lei de Incentivo Cultural,
Ministerio de Cultura, Governo Federal do Brasil, and is supported by the Secretario de Educacao of the
Prefeitura de Buzios, Inter TV/Globo, and others.
