| Astronomy The Observatorio de Buzios is the home of a 14" Celestron Compustar computer-controlled telescope housed in a 3-meter Ash-Dome cupola affording 360º, zenith-to-horizon, views of the southern skies. It’s one of the largest privately-owned telescopes in South America, and the largest in our region of Rio de Janeiro. Buzios offers good viewing conditions, especially in the April-November dry season when skies tend to be clearer than in the heat of the summer rainy season. While we are not in the middle of the desert, light pollution is significantly better here than in any city. |
